GANLEY, Amanda Briggs Downing

MRS. AMANDA GANLEY  died at her home in Lodi yesterday morning at 2 o’clock.  She was 55 years of age and is survived by one sister and two brothers,  W. T. Briggs of this place being one of the brothers. Funeral services will be held from the Christian church in Lodi today   (Friday) at 1 o’clock, after which interment will be made in the Miller cemetery. – S

AMANDA BRIGGS GANDLY,  third child of Robert and Minerva Briggs, was born Oct. 22, 1859 in Fountain county, Ind., died in the town of Lodi, (sic) Fountain county, Ind., on Feb. 26, 1914, aged 54 years, 4 months and 4 days.  She was married on March 30, 1898 to Thomas Downing, who died Sept. 22, 1899.    On Aug 14, 1907, she was remarried to Joseph Gandly. She joined the Mill Creek Christian church at the age of 16 years.  She leaves one sister, Nancy Ann Kiger, and two brothers, Wm. T. of Kingman and Alva, of Danville, Ill.,  two brothers, John and James having preceded her in death. After the death of her mother she remained with her father and faithfully cared for the household until his marriage to Catula Scott.  She was a faithful and efficient worker, taking great pride in all her work, and careful that all she did should be extremely neat and scrupulously clean.  She has done her work and gone to her reward, at the end of a life of faithful service. Funeral services were conducted from the Christian church at Lodi on Friday morning at 11 o’clock,  Rev. Levi Woody officiating.  Interment was made in the Miller cemetery.-S

Note: I did not see her spelled anyway by trying many combination on findagrave.  Tried Downing as well her first husband - anyone know more about this gal, please let me know
