ATTICA, Ind. (CNS) — Mrs. Pearl L. Galloway, 73, of Veedersburg Route 1, Sterling community, died at 12:45 a.m. today (June 17, 1969) at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette. She had been a patient there since June 5. She had been a patient at the Alward Nursing Home in Attica 18 months. Born March 5, 1896, in Brown County, Tex., she was the daughter of Oscar A. and Dorcia McManomy. She had worked for Grab-It-Here Stores in Danville, Veedersburg and Covington. She was married May 19, 1928, at Veedersburg to Jack Robert Galloway, who died in 1967. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Survivors include four sisters, Mrs. Mabel Smith of Clearwater, Fla., Mrs. Clara Moore of Duncan, Okla., Mrs. Bernice Hutson of Veedersburg and Mrs. Marian Weigle, Attica; two brothers, Carl McMenomy of Duncan, Okla., and Gladis McManomy of Waynetown; and four grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at DeSutter Funeral Home. The Rev. Harold Bachert will officiate. Burial will be in Rockfield Cemetery. The body is at the funeral home. Mrs. Pearl L. Galloway, 76, died at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette, Tuesday, June 17, 1969. She had been a patient at Alward Nursing Home for a year and a half and had been seriously ill and hospitalized since June 5. She was born in Brown County, Texas, March 5, 1893, the daughter of Oscar Austin and Dorcia McManomy. She was married May 19, 1928, in Veedersburg, to Robert (Jack) Galloway, who preceded her in death on Dec.14, 1967. He had operated the Grab-It-Here food stores in Danville, Veedersburg, and Covington. She was a housewife and a member of the Presbyterian Church. Surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Mabel Smith, Clearwater, Fla.; Mrs. Clara Moore, Duncan, Okla.; Mrs. Berniece Hutson, Veedersburg and Mrs. Marian Weigle, Attica; two brothers, Carl McManomy, Duncan, Okla., and Gladis McManomy, Waynetown. Funeral services at the DeSutter Chapel, Thursday, with Rev. Harold Bachert officiating. Interment in Rockfield Cemetery east of Sterling. – jlr
