Mont R. Galloway, 86 of 637 South 27th St died at 8:40 p.m. Friday June 27 at his son’s home. He had been in failing health since July 1996. He had made his home with his son, at 610 S. 10th St since Oct 1996. Born Aug 28, 1910 in Stone Bluff, Ind he married Ethel A. Boes May 18, 1935 in Lafayette. She died April 12, 1996. He had been a lifelong resident of Lafayette. (note he was born in Fountain County – Birth Book H-7 p 54). Mr. Galloway worked as a foreman with Peerless Wire Goods for 44 years. He retired in 1982. Mr. Galloway enjoyed woodworking and refinishing antique furniture. Surviving are two sons, Richard L. Galloway, Sr of Lafayette and Wayne B. Galloway of Byron Minn and two brothers, Ronald Galloway and William E. Galloway both of Lafayette.

Galloway, Mont R. – Friends may call 5-8 p.m. today at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Service 10 a.m. Tuesday July 1 at Hippensteel Chapel. Interment St. Boniface Cemetery. Nine grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren survive. Preceded in death by a brother and three sisters. Those desiring may contribute in memoriam to the Tippecanoe Chapter American Cancer Society or the Home Hospital Hospice.
