NEWTOWN — Albert W. Galloway, 75, a former businessman here, died Monday morning in a Bradenton, Fla., nursing home. Mr. Galloway built the Newtown Garage, which he later sold to his brother, A. T. He and his wife, Curra, operated the Newtown drugstore until retiring in 1960. He was employed by the National Refining Co., for 25 years. He was a trombone player in the Newtown Band and also played with the National Car Couplers' Band. He was born near Covington Aug. 10, 1891, a son of John A. and India Ward Galloway. His first marriage was to Ethel Lape. After her death he was married to Katheryn Druley. She also preceded him in death. On March 5, 1949, he was married to Curra E. Fry in Newtown. Mr. Galloway was a resident of Newtown 37 years. He was a member of the Newtown Methodist Church. He moved to Bradenton in August of 1966. Surviving are the widow; a son, Lowell of Attica; a stepson, Clifford Fry of Attica; a sister, Mrs. Orville Meeker of Frankfort; three brothers, O. K. of Crawfordsville, Jack of Veedersburg and A. T. of Newtown and two step-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Crumley-Williams Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Rev. Arthur Schenck officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home. - waw

Newtown – Albert W. Galloway of Bradenton, Fla died Monday morning. He was born in the Osborn Prairie Community Aug 10, 1891, the son of John A. and India Ward Galloway.  Mr. Galloway lived most of his life in the Osborn Prairie, Attica and Newtown communities. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth Pauline, a son Kenneth, sister Anna. Three brothers, Urban, Huber and Morris.  The Newtown garage was built by Mr. Galloway and later sold to his brother, AT Galloway. He then was employed by the National Refining Company and remained with them 25 years.  Mr. Galloway was trombone player in the famous Newtown Band and a charter member. He also played in the National Car Coupler Band, Benton Harbor Band and several orchestras.  On March 5, 1949 he was married to Curra E. Fry of Newtown.  They owned and operated the Newton Drugstore and retired a few years ago. In August 1966, they moved to Bradenton.  He was a member of the Newtown methodist Church.  Survivors include his wife, Curra; a son, Lowell of Attica; a stepson, Clifford Fry of Attica; a sister, Baska Meeker of Frankfort; three brothers, AT, Newtown; OK, Crawfordsville and Jack of Sterling and two grandchildren, Bill and Elissa Fry of Attica.  The body will be taken to the Crumley & William Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
