Ernest A. Gady, former Warren County resident, and former Attica businessman, died Tuesday, (June 30, 1970) at Danville Care where he had resided the past two years. He was born Jan. 4, 1893, in Pine Village, the son of Elmer and Alice Francis Gady. He was married to Leila Stewart, who preceded him in death in 1965. He was a retired Hartford Insurance Co. officer, and was a member of the Pine Village Masonic Lodge. He owned a farm near Rainsville and was often humorously referred to as the Mayor of Rainsville. He wrote many feature newspaper articles many of which appeared in this paper expanding the philosophical------of "Grandpappy Bash. At one time he operated a restaurant one door north of the Dick Schwartz store on South Perry street in Attica. He operated a restaurant at Oakwood near Chicago. After suffering a stroke, he returned to Warren County and entered the nursing home at Danville. Surviving are one brother, Ruey Gady of Star City, and one sister, Bessie Hubbard of Normal, Ill. One niece and five nephews also survive. Funeral services Thursday at the Roemer Funeral Chapel with Rev. Harold Bachert officiating. Interment at the family lot in the Rainsville Cemetery.  --typed by Walt W
