EWEN, Anna Rafterty - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

COVINGTON – Mrs. Anna Ewen, 76, of Covington, died Thursday, Dec. 20, at the Tall Trees Nursing Home at Covington. She had been a patient there since May 5. She was born Sept. 30, 1897, at Penfield, the daughter of John and Bridget Collins Rafterty. She married Ishmael Ewen March 17, 1937, who died Feb. 14, 1948. Survivors include a brother, Charles Rafferty of Sidell; three sisters, Mrs. Winifred Schooley of Rantoul, Mrs. Nora Cook of Champaign and Mrs. Johannah Hancock of Winamac; and several nieces and nephews. She had resided in the Covington area for several years. Services were at 11 a.m. EST Saturday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home, with the Rev. Donald Vernon officiating. Burial was in West Lebanon Cemetery. – jlr
