Austin Etter, 78, a retired professor and former resident of Wallace, died Wednesday (May 28, 1969) at Clearwater ,Fla. He had been ill sometime. Born in Jackson Township near Wallace, he was the son of John and Mertie Wilkinson Etter. He was a member of the Wallace Lutheran Church and formerly taught at Wallace High. He was a graduate of Indiana University. Survivors include his widow, a daughter, two grandchildren and a cousin. Burial was in Sylvan Abby Cemetery at Clearwater. - jlr

Wallace – Austin Etter, age 78, a former Wallace HS teacher died at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday May 28 at his home at 111 Tropical Breeze Trailer Park, 2090 US 19 North, Clearwater, Florida. Mr. Etter was a member of the Wallace Lutheran Church. He was a graduate of Indiana University. He was at one time a college professor. He was born near Wallace in Jackson Township, the son of John and Mertie Wilkinson Etter. Surviving are his wife; one daughter and one cousin, Mrs. Wandaline Torma of Florida. Funeral services were held at the Moss Funeral Home in Dunedin, Fla. Burial was in the Cylvan Abbey Cemetery at Clearwater. – kbz
