EPHLIN, John - WWII & Korea

John Ephlin, 26 years old, a veteran both of WWII and of Korea, died at 1:30 a.m. Sunday in Billings Veteran Hospital in Indianapolis.  He was taken there on Friday in the Fishero ambulance.  He was born March 6, 1925 in Kingman and was the son of Edgar and Hallie Keller Ephlin.  He was married to Doris Ann Akers in 1947.  He was a member of the Christian Church in Pine Village and Modern Woodmen in Kingman. After serving in WWII he remained in the Army reserve and was recalled to active duty in Korea serving there one year, returning home last August. Surviving are the widow, the parents, one brother, Eugene of Des Moines, Ia; three sisters, Mrs. Doris Maxwell, Crawfordsville and Mrs. Irene Carter and Mrs. Virginia Penick both of Kingman, the grandmother, Mrs. Janie Mann of Kingman and two nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Tuesday afternoon in the Kingman Christian Church conducted by Rev. Harold Miles with burial in the Kingman Fraternal cemetery. -kbz
