Alonzo (Lon) Ennis, age 85, a life resident of Fountain County, died at 1:35 a. m. Monday, Nov. 7 at his home in Portland Arch on Covington Rt. 3, following three years of ill health. Born April 4, 1875, at Waynetown, he was the son of Lewis J. and Olive L. Henderson Ennis. He had been a farmer most of his life and worked on various farms in the Portland Arch community. Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Belle Hancock, Mrs. Nellie Mae Trott and Mrs. Florence L. Santmyre, all of Covington Rt. 3; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by seven brothers and a sister. Funeral services were held this afternoon, Nov. 8, at 2 o'clock at the Fountain Christian Church in Portland Arch. The Rev. James W. Weaver officiated. Burial was in the Fountain Cemetery with the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in charge. --typed by Walt W

Born April 4, 1875 in Fountain County, he was the son of Lewis and Olive L. Henderson Ennis. He had been a farmer most of his life.

Services were at 2 p.m. CST. Wednesday at the Fountain Christian Church in Portland Arch. The Rev. W. Weaver officiated with burial in Fountain Cemetery. - jz
