MELLOTT, Ind. (CNS) - Services for Claire English, 79, of Arcola, Ill., a former Mellott resident, who died Sunday (Sept. 12, 1971) at Americana Nursing Center, were at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Shrader Funeral Home in Arcola. Burial was in the O'Bryan Cemetery north of Tuscola, Ill. Mr. English had been ill for several months and a patient at the nursing home a few days. He was born Dec. 31, 1891, at Philo, Ill., the son of Charles and Effie Cottrel English. He married Zelda Lowman Aug. 18, 1924 at Danville, Ill. He was a World War I veteran. He was employed by the Wright-Sullivan Oil Co. in Champaign, Ill., for 25 years and later he operated a candy store at Effingham, Ill. He also farmed in Indiana and left Mellott in 1959. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Mary Wilborn of Arcola. - jlr
