Dr. Ross Ellis of Hillsboro, age 92, died Monday afternoon, November 22, in Covington Manor Center, where he had been a patient for one year. He was born southeast of Hillsboro, June 26, 1890, the son of Christopher and Ella Hughes Ellis. July 14, 1913, he married Zelma Newkirk, who died July 1, 1981.

  Dr. Ellis was a retired veterinarian and farmer and had also been employed as federal meat inspector for the Sam Harris Meat Company of Crawfordsville. He was a member of the former Ingersol Church and a charter member of Fountain County Farm Bureau.

  Survivors include a daughter, Eileen Simmons of Lake Holiday near Crawfordsville; a son, Ernest of Hillsboro; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at Thomas Funeral Home in Waynetown with Rev. Jack Swank officiating. Burial was in the Waynetown Cemetery.-s
