Perrysville—Riley Dale Ellis, 71, Perrysville, died Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 31, 1989 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Danville, Ill.
He was born Dec. 3, 1917 in Vermillion County, the son of Arthur and Faye A. Crowder Ellis.
He attended Washington School in Danville and had been a resident of Perrysville since 1932. He was a World War II Army veteran and a technical sergeant with the 71st Infantry. He had been employed at Harrison Steel Castings Co., Attica, for 28 years, retiring in 1979.
He was a member of the Southside Church of Christ in Danville. His hobby was collecting Indian artifacts.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Ralph (Madaline) Wilson, Perrysville; a brother, James E., Perrysville; a niece, Judy Scott, Perrysville; a nephew, Robert Wilson, Route 1, Covington, and several great nieces and great nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today (Friday) at Shelby Funeral Home, Covington, with the Rev. Wayne Hoover officiating. Burial will be in Lower Mound Cemetery with military services by Walter Hoyt Post American Legion. – thanks to s
