Veedersburg—Funeral services for Fred Elliot, 52, life resident of Veedersburg, whose death occurred Saturday evening at 4 o’clock, were held Monday afternoon at 2:30 at the Prairie Creek Baptist Church. Interment was made in the Rockfield Cemetery with the Fishero Funeral Home in charge.
Born on a farm near Veedersburg on May 25, 1896, he was the son of John E. and Minnie Palmer Elliot.
He was twice married, first to Mary Newnum and later to Thersa Massey. The latter survives, along with two daughters by the first marriage, Mrs. Artie Crowder of Yeddo and Mrs. Ledema Summers of Cates; also a foster sister, Mrs. Fern Love of Summitville.
In failing health during the past two years, Mr. Elliot had been seriously ill for two weeks. – thanks to S&E
