Alamo - Harry Eugene Elliingwood, Sr. died at his farm home, one half mile west of Alamo at 1:30 a.m. Monday. He had been ill nine months with heart trouble. Mr. Ellingwood was born Sept 9, 1879 near Danville Ill in Vermiion County, the son of William and Anna Elliott Ellingwood. He married Edna Potter Sept 5, 1900 in Marshall, Ill.
He was a member of the Bismarck Christian Church of Bismarck Ill. Ellingwood farmed near Danville until 1920 and then moved to his home near Alamo.
He is survived by his wife; three sons, Loyd of Waynetown; Eugene Jr of Wallace and Don of Ladoga; a daughter, Mrs. Henrietta Hutson of Crawfordsville; a sister, Mrs. Clara May Cork of Elgin, Ill; 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in the Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown with Rev. John R. Servies i charge. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the family residence from noon TUesday until noon Thursday. - kz
