James Weaver Ellingwood, 69 years old and a retired brickyard worker formerly of Veedersburg died at 11:20 a.m. Thursday July 10 at the home of a son, Morris in Danville, Ill. He has been seriously ill only a week although he had been in impaired health for about two years. He was born on Sept 3, 1882 in Veedersburg, the son of Newton and Mary Ellingwood and was married to Clara Stonebraker of Veedersburg who survives with the son and one daughter, Mrs. Mildred Shepard of Medford, Ore. There also survive one brother, Clyde Ellingwood of Veedersburg and four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon at the Fishero Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Fred Chelan with interment in Rockfield Cemetery.

James Weaver Ellingwood, son of Mary and Newton Ellingwood was born Sept 3, 1882 at Veedersburg, Ind and passed away at the home of his son Maurice of Danville Ill July 10, 1952 at the age of 69 years and 10 months. He had been in failing health the past four years and seriously ill the past week. He was united in marriage to Clara Stonebraker of Veedersburg, Indiana Dec 23, 1903 who survives. To this union was born two children, Mrs. Mildred Shepard of Medford, Oregon and Maurice of Danville, Ill. Surviving in addition to the wife and two children and four grandchildren and one brother, Clyde of Veedersburg. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother. – kbz
