Hillsboro - Death came to Mrs. Mable Edwards, 72, widow of Sam Edwards on Monday, May 18, 1942 in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Lafayette where she was entered four weeks ago with a heart ailment. Funeral services have been set for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Rogers & Henderson Funeral Home, Lafayette with Rev. Otto Scott Steele of the West Lafayette Methodist Church officiating. Burial in Grand View Cemetery. Mrs. Edwards who spent her winters in Lafayette with a daughter, Mrs. Horace Reisner, had just returned to Hillsboro for the summer when she was taken ill. She was a member of the Methodist Church in Hillsboro. Born at Linden, Ind she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Alexander. In addition to the daughter in Lafayette, she is survived by another daughter, Mrs. Dan VanDeWalker in San Malteo, Calif and four grandchildren. - kbz

Mrs. Mable Alexander Edwards, 73, widow of Hamilton Edwards formerly of Hillsboro who had been making her home with her daughter, Mrs. Horace G. Reisner, 492 Littleton Street, West Lafayette died Monday at 4 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Hospital, where she had been a patient for the past month. Born at Linden she was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Alexander. Member of the Methodist Church at Hillsboro. She leaves two daughters by a former marriage, Mrs. DM Vandawalker of Santa Mateo, Cal and Mrs. Reisner. Friends may call at the Rogers and Henderson Funeral Home after noon Tuesday. Services Wednesday at 10 a.m. from there; Rev. Otto Scott Steele of the West Lafayette Methodist Church officiating. Burial in Grand View Cemetery. – kbz
