Estal W. Edwards of Covington, age 74, died Tuesday night, March 17, in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Illinois. He was born in Manchester, May 11, 1906, the son of Thomas H. and Hattie M. Howrey Edwards. He first married Helen Kaiser and later married Mary E. Keller, who survives.
A resident of Covington most of his life, he was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Fountain County Old Guard VFW. He attended Covington United Methodist Church. He retired in 1973 after owning and operating Edwards Grocery.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Beverly Van Pelt of RR 2, Williamsport; three sons, Robert of Williamsport, Thomas P. of Covington and Estal Lee of Algonquin, Illinois; a sister, Imogene Edwards of Covington; two brothers, Floyd of Danville, Illinois, and Leroy of Covington; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home in Covington. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery at Covington. – thanks so much to “S”
