Hillsboro Indiana Oct 16 - Samuel Edwards, a Civil War vetran and prominent man of this community died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Duly Frazier, Tuesday evening about 5 o'clock following a 10 days' illness. He was taken ill with a severe cold and had not recovered from that when blood poison developed from an injury which he suffered several years ago. He was 77 years old and was one of the few surviving members of the 72d Indian Regiment, he having had 3 years of active service in the civil war. He was preceded in death by two wives and about 3 months ago was united in marriage to Mrs. Mabel Kellison of Indianapolis, who survives. He had been remodeling his home on Thompson street where he and Mrs. Edwards had planned to make their home int he future. He is also survived by 5 daughters and one son, all of whom were at his bedside when the end came. They are Mrs. James Murphy of Essix, Iowa; Mrs. Lon Long and Mrs. Robert Cord of near here; Mrs. Charles Twiddy of Wingate; Mrs. Duly Frazier of near here and William Edwards of Muncie, Ill. The funeral service will be held from te Frazier home Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock and interment will be in Dry Run Cemetery northeast of here. -- thanks Dellie C for this one :)
