PINE VILLAGE — Bessie H. Eberly, 76, Pine Village, died at 5:51 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 28, 2001 in Kindred Hospital, Indianapolis, after an extended illness. She was born July 24, 1926 in Liberty, Ky., the oldest of five children born to James and Etta Young Holt. She married Cleo Eberly June 10, 1944 in Attica. He survives. She attended Liberty High School in Liberty, Ky. She graduated from Huffer Beauty College in Lafayette in 1961. She owned and operated the Magic Mirror beauty shop out of her home for 31 years. She was a member of Pythian Sisters, the Pine Village United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She was devoted to her family and the community, often carrying meals in to the homebound. She was an avid reader and student of world affairs. Survivors, besides the husband, include: two sons, Steve (Jean) Eberly and Roger (Susan) Eberly, both of Pine Village; two brothers, Billy Holt and Ray Holt, both of Mt. Washington, Ky.; two sisters, Betty (Burl) Farmer, Scottsdale, Ariz. and Carolyn (Eugene) Burton, Greenfield; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Donald Eberly; a brother, Gene Holt; and a grandson, Christopher Eberly. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday) in Pine Village United Methodist Church with Pastor Mike Link and the Rev. Herman Dragt officiating. Interment will be in Pine Village Cemetery. Grady Funeral Home, Williamsport, is in charge of arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to Pine Village United Methodist Church. – jlr
