Hillsboro – Mrs. Maude Josephine Ebel, 70 died at her home in Hillsboro at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday. She returned a few days ago from Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville where she had been a patient. She had been in declining health for some time. Born Mach 30, 1885 in Aurora, Ind, Mrs. Ebel was the daughter of William and Elizabeth Smith. She was married July 14, 1904 to Charles Ebel who survives. Together with their daughter, Thelma Ebel a teacher in the Hillsboro school. A brother, Harry Smith and sister, Miss Emma Smith both of Aurora also survive. Mrs. Ebel was a member of the Evangelical Church in Aurora and attended the Methodist Church in Hillsboro. The family had settled having come here from Otterbein. Mr. Ebel is a traveling salesman. The body will be at the residence in Hillsboro from Wednesday until 11 a.m. Friday where friends may call. The body will be taken Friday noon to the Crumley Funeral Home in Hillsboro where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. with Rev. Kenneth Vetters, pastor of the Methodist Church as the officiating clergyman. Burial will take place in the Masonic Cemetery at Waynetown. - kz
