Mrs. Charles C. Cooper, Hillsboro received word of the death of her father, Dr. G. Rector Dye, PhDDD 81, who died at his home in San Diego, Cal Monday morning Dec 17 after a lingering illness of a heart ailment. Dr. Dye was widely known as a Baptist minister. He was a graduate of Denison University, Rochester Theological Seminary; Doctors degree at Columbia University and Chicago University. He was a missionary to Thayetmnyao, Burma and was associated with the Seagrove family. He was state sec of the American Baptist Convention and had served as pastor of several First Baptist Church, including Portsmouth, O; Mt. Vernon O; and San Bernardino, Calif. He also served as Professor of Biology and Philosophy in Linda Vista College, Calif. Survivors are the widow, one daughter Mrs. Cooper of Hillsboro and two sons, Philip Dye of Wellston, Ohio and Rector Dye of Indianapolis. Funeral services will be held San Diego and the body will be brought to Hillsboro for burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Cooper who has been making an extended visit with her parents and returned hoe recently left Tuesday for San Diego. = kbz
