Waynetown Oct 18 - John C. Dwiggins, one of the pioneers of Wayne Twp, died at his home in Waynetown Friday from a complication of diseases incident to old age. Mr. Dwiggins was born in Montgomery County near Alamo in June 1837 and lived most of his life in this county with the exception of a few years spent in Kansas and Rossville, Ill. He was a life-long Republican and served the county as treasurer from 1881-1883 during which time he was a resident of Crawfordsville. He and his wife were charter members of the Christian Church at Waynetown and he contributed liberally of his labor and means twoard erecting the church building after the organization of the church. He was kind, gentle and free-hearted and had many close friends. Almost 55 years ago he married Susannah Fouts who after sharing the burdens as well as the joys of this long journey together, is left to mourn her loss. Four children were born: Howard of Danville, Ill; Walter and Charles of this place and a son who died in infancy. A sister, Mrs. Mattie Born of Rossville, Il is the only surviving member of 11 children. The funeral will probably be conducted Sunday with interment at Masonic cemetery. - kbz
