Otterbein – Miss Edith Pauline Dunlavy, 54, died Saturday at Presbyterian Hospital, Albuquerque NM. She was the daughter of Mrs. Amanda Dunlavy, Otterbein. Her father was the late Rev. AA Dunlavy, Methodist minister. Miss Dunlavy was employed by the US Government as head librarian n the library science area of Sandia Air Force base near Albuquerque. She was born in Newtown and graduated from Brookston HS. In 1929 she received her AB degree from DePauw University and taught language for six years before entering the University of Illinois, obtaining a BS degree. She then joined the staff of the city library at Newark, NJ and later was on the public library board at Chicago for six years. During WWII she was stationed in both Germany and France, working on the staff of Stars & Stripes (the Army newspaper). She later helped organize bookmobile libraries in Germany. Surviving besides her mother is a sister, Mrs. Roy Sturm of Philadelphia. Her body has been returned here for services and burial. lbz
