DUNKERLY, Charles W.

Charles W. Dunkerly of Cayuga, age 64, died Sunday morning, November 14, in Lakeview Medical Center at Danville, Illinois. He was born at Norfolk, Virginia, May 29, 1918, the son of Leland S. and Edna Louise Thompson Dunkerly. January 3, 1947, he married Ruth Patrick, who survives.
  Dunkerly was owner of the Cayuga IGA store for 15 years. He worked on the Nickle Plate Railroad and at General Motors in Tilton, Illinois, before purchasing the store. He was a member of Cayuga United Presbyterian Church, Masonic Lodge and Lions Club. A veteran of World War II, he had been commander of Cayuga American Legion Post and later was a member of the Newport post.
  Also surviving are three daughters, Patrice Lamb of Cayuga, Lynn Langley of Covington and Susan Dunkerly of Danville, Illinois; a sister, Mildred Goodwin of Cayuga; and three grandchildren.
  Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at DeVerter Brothers Funeral Home in Cayuga with Rev. Jack Earley and Rev. John Irwin officiating. Burial was in Thomas Cemetery at Newport.
