Mellott - Harvey Duncan, 82, of Rt. 3, Veedersburg, died at 8:20 a.m. Wednesday in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette. A retired farmer, he farmed in Richland Township in Fountain County all of his life. He raised registered polled hereford show cattle. His memberships included Mellott United Church of Christ, Fountain County Farm Bureau and the International Polled Hereford Association. He formerly served on the Southeast Fountain School Board. A graduate of Mellott HS, he attended Danville Normal College. Mr. Duncan was born Nov 27, 1905 in Richland Township, to David and Alpha Riley Duncan. He married Bernice Glover on Sept 6, 1927. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Lawrence and harold; a daughter, Mrs. Philip (Lois) Gray; two sisters, Mrs. Ada Trout and Mrs. Alfred (Onda) Harris; 17 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. A son, Lowell and an infant brother preceded him in death. Services are set for 2 p.m. Saturday in Mellott UnitedChurch of Christ with Revs. Ivan Gwaltney and William Chapman officiating. Burial in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call after 5 p.m. Friday at Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown or one hour prior to services at the church. Memorials may be made to Mellott United Church of Christ.
