Danville, Ill.—John W. Duncan Sr., 82, of the Belgium area, died at 5:25 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, 1989 at United Samaritans Medical Center, Logan Campus, Danville.

  He was born May 30, 1906 in Barren County, Ky., the son of Mike and Julia Folden Duncan. He was married April 29, 1929 in Gallatin, Tenn., to Alma Morrison, who survives.

  He worked at Davies Packing Co. and later Windbreaker, retiring in 1968.

  He was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church in Monroe County, Ky. and Loving Masonic Lodge 323 in Fountain Run, Ky. He served on the Belgium Village Board for 26 years until 1987. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling.

  Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Mrs. John (Iris) Kielich, Westville, Ill.; a son, John Jr., Covington, two sisters, Lois Hendricks, Glasgow, Ky., and Lucille Woodcock, Wayne Mich.; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, a brother and three sisters.

  Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday at Barrick & Son Guardian Chapel, with the Rev. Wayne Hoover officiating. Burial was in Georgetown Cemetery. – thanks to S
