Veedersburg Aug 27 (1943) – A heart attack following a three weeks’ illness ended the life of John Duncan, 63 who was found dead in bed at 6:15 a.m. Thursday at his home in Sterling where he was living with a nephew, Leo Irvin. He was born Nov 30, 188 in Sharon PA the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Duncan. He moved to this community 14 years ago and was employed at the Harrison Steel Casting Company in Attica. Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Mary Winters of Terre Haute; Mrs. Gene Holycross of Indianapolis and Mrs. Harriet Holstead of Detroit as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Sterling Christian Church with the Rev. Charles Howard officiating. Burial will be in Moore Cemetery at Undertakers of Covington in charge.
