Funeral services as she herself had planned them were held at 2:30 p.m. CST, Sunday in the Kingman Methodist Church for Mrs. Ann Pepple Duncan, aged 81 years wife of Ira Duncan of the Kingman community of which she had been a resident for 47 years. Mrs. Duncan died at 8:20 p.m. Friday at her home. She was born Nov 1 ,1869 at Sumner, Ill the daughter of Joseph and Mary Pepple. She was married on Oct 29, 1891 to Ira Duncan who survives with five children including two daughters, Mrs. Guy O Carpenter, West Lafayette; Mrs. OV King, Hoopeston ill and stepsons Reed of New Castle ___ (huge black smudge) of Crawfordsville and Fred Anderson. A half-brother 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren who survive. Mrs. Dunca was a member of the Kingman Methodist Church where the services were held. She had made plans for the funeral even to writing a sketch of her life. The pastor, Rev. Lester Bickett conducted the service and the scripture reading was by grandson, Rev. Guy Duncan Carpenter of Greensburg, the latters, father, Rev. Guy Carpenter of West Lafayette delivering the eulogy. Stanley Duncan, New Castle, a grandson sang beautifully In the Garden and The Lord’s Prayer being accompanied on the piano by Mrs. RE Holstine. Prayer was given by Rev. Bickett . Interment took place in the Kingman Fraternal cemetery.
