DUKES, Opal Cole - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Mrs. Opal A. Dukes, 56, of 1610 Edgewood, died at 2:50 this morning (Aug. 17, 1978) at Lakeview Medical Center, where she had been a patient since Aug. 11. Mrs. Dukes had lived at the Edgewood address two years. She was born March 29, 1922 in Illinois to Hallie and Goldie Crowder Cole. Survivors include her mother of Fairmount; two sons, Frank and David, both of Danville; a daughter, Sharon Dukes of Danville; three brothers, Hallie Jr. of Fairmount, Olin Louis Cole of Oakwood, and Jack of Ridge Farm; three sisters, Shirley Cunningham of Danville, Hannah Gaudino of Covington, Ind., and Faith Erwin of Oakwood, and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father and four brothers. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Barrick & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Gene McConnell officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. - jlr
