WAYNETOWN – Albert Duke, 82, died at 3:12 a.m. Sunday (March 17, 1974) in Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville. He had been a patient since Feb. 12. Born Nov. 6, 1891, in Fountain County, he was the son of Edgar and Ora Fouts Duke. He was married March 24, 1912, to Eula Biddle, who survives. Other survivors include a son, Donald of Carmel, Ind.; four daughters, Mrs. Robert (Evelyn) Frame of New Market, Mrs. Donald (Pearl) Roland of Crawfordsville, Mrs. Donald (Marietta) Switzer of Danville, Ind., and Mrs. Romona Sorenson of North Canton, Ohio; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, two grandsons, a brother and a sister. Mr. Duke was retired from R. R. Donnelley's in Crawfordsville and had done general trucking. He was a former Republican precinct committeeman, a member of the Waynetown Baptist Church and the Senior Citizens Group of Crawfordsville. He graduated from Waynetown High in 1911 and attended Wabash College. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Servies-Thomas Funeral Home, with the Rev. Stephen Malone officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends will be received after 4 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. – jlr
