Firmin Duchene, 87, died Sunday at the home of a daughter, six miles east of Kingman, following an illness of several months.
A retired coal miner, Mr. Duchene was born November 24, 1869 in Lorraine, France the son of Noah and Victorene Duchene. He was married to Hattie Ellingwood on March 31, 1900, and she preceded him in death.
He was a member of the Freedom Christian Church near Wallace.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Sadie Alward, and Mrs. Helen Alward, and Mrs. Firma Phillips all of Kingman, and Mrs. Marjorie Aubert of Detroit; a son, Edward, of Danville, Illinois; seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Woodrow Funeral Home with the Rev. Alfred Dobbs of Veedersburg officiating. Burial was in Harveysburg Cemetery. - jz
