Mrs. Nina Draper, 64, member of a pioneer Fountain County and almost a life-long resident of t his community died at 8 o’clock Saturday night in Culver Hospital, Crawfordsville.  She had been in failing health for more than a year.  Mrs. Draper was born on March 18, 1886 at Coffeyville, Kan the eldest of four children but when still a small child, the family returned to their Indiana home. Her young girlhood was spent near the Old Hickory Grove school in Wabash Township where she attended common school and was baptized into the Cooper’s Chapel Church at an early age. She also attended Veedersburg HS. On Aug 30, 1908 she was married to Harry Draper who passed away Jan 23, 1945.  She was the mother of two sons, one passing away in infancy, the other, Robert Draper employed in Danville Ill by General Motors survives. She also is survived by her father and one brother, Lawrence C. Greenley of the New Hampshire National Guard at Manchester who holds an army reserve commission as colonel. One sister, Mabel and one brother, Homer, preceded her in death.  Mrs. Draper became a member of the Christian Congregational Church of Mellott after her husband had united with that church.  Later when they returned to Veedersburg they transferred to the New Century United Brethren where she was active had taught Sunday School and worked in the Aid Society which she was a former president. She also was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and of the Veedersburg Chapter of DAR of which she was a past regent and of the Economics Club. The last few years of her life had been spent in making a home for her father. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Parham Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Robert Todd, pastor of the Veedersburg EUB Church with interment in Rockfield Cemetery. – kbz
