J. Harry Draper born Veedersburg, Fountain County, Indiana 24 June 1881 died 23 Jan 1945 Veedersburg, Fountain County, Indiana. J. Harry Draper, aged 63, lifelong resident of the Veedersburg community died at his home two miles south of that city Tuesday afternoon Jan 23 at 3 o’clock after a short illness. He suffered a stroke of paralysis while securing a load of feed at the Veedersburg Milling Co elevator at noon that day and after being attended by a physician was removed to his home. He was born June 24, 1881 in Veedersburg the son of Fornia and Mary Miles Draper. He was married to Nina Greenely, who survives. Mr. Draper was for many years employed in the telephone construction work but since receiving bad injuries in a fall during a sleet storm several years ago, he had been engaged in farming. He was a member of the Masonic and Knights of Pythias lodges, the Eastern Star and also of the New Century retherm church near Veedersburg. Besides the widow, one son T-5 Robert Draper serving in the US Army in the South Pacific survives. Funeral arrangements are being held up pending an effort to get in touch with the son through the Red Cross. The body was taken to the family home Wednesday noon. - kbz
