Attica - Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, at the DeSutter Funeral Home for George Washington Drane, age 82, of 806 S. Perry St., who died at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan 8 at his home. The Rev. Louis Haskell officiated. Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery. Born Feb 28, 1880, in Kentucky, he was the son of Joel Clelan and Elizabeth Harned Drane. He was married to Mary Elizabeth Shrewburry, who preceded him in death in 1957. Mr. Drane had operated a service station at Linden until 1943 when he was forced to retire due to ill health. Survivors include two sons, Maurice of Attica and Harold of Lafayette; a daughter, Mrs. Marguerite Haynes of Attica; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
