Walter A. Dowden, 61, a former Crawfordsville resident, d. Fri. morning at an Indianapolis hospital. He had been ill sev. months. Born May 23, 1888 at Yeddo, Mr. Dowden was the son of James & Dora Reiniker (sic) Dowden. During his young manhood he was a minister of the united Brethren faith. During most of his life he was engaged in theinterior decorating business. He had resided in Indianapolis since 1933. Surviving are a dau., Mrs. Dora L. ALLEN of Alamo; a son, Maurice Dowden of Crawfordsville; a granddau, Nancy Ann Allen of Alamo; two sisters, Mrs. Thelma SHEETS of New Castle; and Mrs. Cecil SHULAR of Muncie a brother, George Dowden, of Terre Haute and an aunt, Mrs. George SHULAR of Crawfordsville. Fun. serv. will be at 2 o'clock Sun. afternoon at the Proffit & Sons Mort. with burial at Centennial Cemetery near Yeddo. Rev. John Servies will offic. Friends may pay their respects at the fun. home.
