Covington—Mildred B. Douglass, 82, Covington, died at 9:20 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, 1989 at her home.
She was born Sept. 18, 1906 in Covington, the daughter of Thomas H. and Elma McDonald Bodine. She was married Aug. 8, 1929 to Cleland G. Douglass, who preceded her in death Nov. 27, 1967.
She had been a resident of Covington since 1971 and was a former resident of Baltimore Hills area in Mound Township, Warren County, for 41 years.
She was a member and past president of Benson Chapel United Methodist Women, Book Lovers, tri Kappa associate Chapter, Richard Henry lee Chapter DAR, and Woman’s Club. She was also a member of Covington United Methodist Church, Houganaut Society of America and Alpha Omicron Pi. She was listed in Who’s Who in Indiana. She had been an elementary school teacher in Covington.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, C. Thomas and Janice Douglass, Peoria, Ill.; two grandchildren, Jennifer Andrea and Jason Thomas Douglass, Peoria, and a special friend, Wayne Malaott. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Thomas Bodine.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today (Friday) at Shelby Funeral Home, Covington. Funeral services will be there at 2 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Allen Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Covington. – thanks to s
