BOSWELL, Ind. (CNS) - Mrs. Locha A. Doty, 74, of 111 S. Clinton, Boswell, died at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday (Feb. 6, 1973) at the Edgewood View Nursing Home at Oxford. She had been ill eight months. Born Dec. 12, 1898, near Hetrick, she was the daughter of Gabriel and Kate Stevenson Pence. She was married in 1918 to Monte Doty, who died in 1952. Mrs. Doty was a retired school teacher, having taught in Marshfield, West Lebanon and Hetrick. She attended Madame Blake's School in Indianapolis, Central Normal College at Danville, Ind., and Valparaiso University. She was a member and a trustee at the Hetrick Church of God. She also was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, National and Indiana Retired Teacher Associations. Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Beulah Slater of Ambia, Mrs. Florence Chafee of Boswell and Mrs. Mary Thompson of Chesterton; and a brother, Ernest Pence of Boswell. She was preceded in death by a brother, Newton, and an infant sister. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Hetrick Church of God. The Rev. Weldon Winner will officiate. Burial will be in the West Lebanon Cemetery, Friends will be received at the Yuill-Shoemaker Thursday. - jlr
