Veedersburg, Dec 1943 – Thomas Dotson 71, retired grocer and former mayor of Veedersburg died at 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville. Mr. Dotson had been a patient in the hospital about three months. He suffered a paralytic stroke some time ago and later fell and fractured a hip and his shoulder . He was born in Kentucky on Oct 26 ,1872, a son of Frank and Eliza Reed Dotson. As a youth he moved to this community and was engaged in farming. He later moved to Veedersburg where he operated a grocery store for 10 years. He was a member of the Masonic Order, the First Christian Church and had been active in the Democratic party. The widow, Bell Foxworthy Dotson I the only survivor.
