Attica - Mrs. Lois Opal Dotson, 68, 1209 S. Brady St., Attica, died at 6 a.m. Sunday in Community Hospital at Williamsport where she had been a patient one week. She had been ill for two years. Mrs. Dotson had been a resident of this community the past 32 years. She had lived in Fountain County most of her life, moving to Veedersburg as a child. Mrs. Dotson had attended Veedersburg schools and the Veedersburg Christian Church. She was born in Alton, Ind., Feb 23, 1900, the daughter of John and Laveda Cox Goodson. Her first marriage was to Albert Samuel Cleveland in 1922. He died in 1942. On Aug. 12, 1943, she married Arthur V. Dotson in Terre Haute. Surviving are her husband, two sons, Dallas Cleveland of Attica and Joe Dotson of Lafayette; three daughter, Mrs. Richard (Idell) Kirts of Rt. 4, Attica, Mrs. Ernest (Marjorie) Tallman of Rt 4 Attica and Susan Dotson at home; a brother, Ted Goodson of Veedersburg; three sisters, Mrs. Paul Miller of Veedersburg, Mrs. Lawrence Scott of Attica and Miss Betty Dotson of Berea Park, Ohio; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Bonnie Vyse. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at DeSutter Funeral Home at Attica with Rev. Harry Rutledge of the Attica Christian Church officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery here. Friends may pay respects at the funeral home from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

She had been in ill health for two years. Mrs. Dotson was born Feb. 21, 1900 in Alton, Ind., the daughter of John and Lavada Cox Goodson. She had lived in Fountain County 63 years. She was married in 1922 to Albert Samuel Cleveland, who preceded her in death in 1942. She was married Aug. 12, 1943, in Terre Haute, to Arthur V. Dotson, who survives. Her schooling was at Veedersburg where she formerly lived. She attended the Veedersburg Christian Church. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are: two sons, Dallas Cleveland Dotson of Attica and Joe Dotson of Lafayette; three daughters, Mrs. Richard (Idell) Kirts of Attica Rt. 4, Mrs. Ernest (Marjory) Tallman of Attica Rt. 4, and Miss Susan Dotson, at home; one brother, Ted Goodson of Veedersburg; three sisters, Mrs. Paul Miller of Veedersburg, Mrs. Lawrence Scott Sr. of Attica and Miss Betty Goodson of Verva Park, Ohio; nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Dec. 18, at the DeSutter Funeral Home here. The Rev. Harry R. Randolph officiated and burial was in Riverside Cemetery. - jlr
