DOSS, Thomas Levi - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Thomas Levi DOSS was born in Cumberland Co KY June 23, 1836. He came to Waveland before the war and here enlisted in Co. A 85th IVI and served with credit 3 years.  He was a blacksmith and had a good business until his health failed.  He was a familiar figure on our streets and his hearty greeting and military salute will be missed. He leaves a wife, one daughter, Mrs. T.J. Ratcliff of Kingman and five grandchildren. - typed by kbz

Obituaries from Fountain Co, Indiana Local History Room Crawfordsville Distric Public Library Thomas DOSS of Waveland died at his late home in that town at 5 a.m. Thursday Sept 4 of heart trouble and dropsy [edema] aged about 60 years. Mr. Doss was a pioneer resident of Waveland and was a brother-in-law of TJ Ratcliff of this place. He was engaged in the blacksmithing business at the time of his death.
