DODSON, "Grandma" - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Muncie, Ill Oct 8 – Grandma Dodson, mother of Mayor Tom Dodson of Veedersburg, Ind and one of the best known residents of that city, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Wm. Lucas in this place at 1 o’clock this morning, Death was due to heart trouble with which the deceased had been a sufferer for some time. For several days it had been apparent that death was near and relatives at a distance had been notified of her condition.  The remains were taken charge of by Harry Fishero undertaker of Veedersburg and was removed to that city where funeral services were conducted on Saturday morning and interment made in the Rockfield cemetery four hens I ? of that place.  Mrs. Dodson who was over 84 years of age is survived two sons, Charles and Tom Dodson and two daughters Mrs. William Lucsa of Muncie, Illinois; Mrs  Jewell Williams of California. She had been a resident of Fountain County practically all of her life.  Only recently she came to this village for a brief visit with her daughter.   –- kbz
