Newtown, May 16. — Mrs. Lou Emma Dodge, 74, died at the home of a sister, Mrs. Anna Wilson, of Shawnee Mound, Friday morning at 8:45 o'clock after having been in failing health for the past year. Death was caused by heart trouble and complications. She had returned to her sister's home only recently after visiting for a month in Newtown with her granddaughter, Mrs. Beryl Spear, whom she reared from childhood. She was born near the home where she died on February 2, 1867, the daughter of James F. and Rachel Ann Washburn Carter, and on April 16, 1890, was married to Oliver Dodge, who died in 1929. Mrs. Dodge was a member of the Newtown Presbyterian church. She is survived by her sister, Mrs. Wilson, with whom she lived; one daughter, Mrs. Eva Martin of Newtown, a son, Fern Dodge of Ocean Park, Calif., nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Arrangements for the funeral have been withheld pending word from the son in California. --waw
