Funeral services for Mrs. Goldie Edith Dodd, age 69, a resident of the Covington community most of her life, were held at 10 a.m. Saturday Oct 28 at the Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home here.The Rev. Edgar Allen, pastor of the First Assembly of God Church officiated and burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Dodd died at 1:55 p.m. Wednesday Oct 25, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville where she had been admitted an hour earlier. She was born in Fountain County Jan .30, 1892, the daughter of John William and Mary Dixon Hagley. She was married to William Henry McKinney, who preceded her in death June 27, 1943. She was later married in November 1944 to Ora Shelton Dodd, who died in July 1959. Most of her life had been spent in the Covington area but she had resided in the Winchester community for the past 17 years. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Erma French, Mrs. Isabell Swaney and Mrs Helen Shuman, all of Covington; one son, Charles Jack of Union city; one brother, William of Covington; one sister, Mrs. Rhoda Stambaugh of Covington, 28 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by three sons, three daughters, one sister and two brothers. Pallbearers were: Dave Noble, Terry Randles, Larry Randles, Gene McClain, Glenwood McClain and Paul Wigley.
