DOBBELS, Arthur Joseph - WWII

Attica - Arthur Joseph Dobbels, 69, a native of Attica, died at 3 a.m. Thursday in Oak Park Hospital, Oak Park, Ill.  He had been in ill health two years. He resided at 1645 S. 61st Court, Cicero, Ill.  

Mr. Dobbels had worked at Sears Roebuck & Co's automotive department for many years.  Born in Attica, July 16, 1919 he formerly lived there, and also resided in Berwyn and Cicero, Ill for more than 30 years. He attended Attica HS.

He served in the Marines during WWII.

His marriage was in September 1978 in Crown Point to Dorothy Hladilek who survives.  He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church in Attica.

Surviving with the widow are a brother, Frank DObbles of Attica and two sisters, Mrs. George (Mary) Meadow of Attica and Mrs. ELmer (Bertha) Allen of Berwyn, Ill.

"Funeral Notices" - Visitation at Nosek Funeral Home, Berwyn, Ill 2-9 p.m. today then at Maus Funeral Home, Attica, 5-9 p.m. Sunday.  Service in St. Francis Xavier Church 10 a.m. Monday, Father Duane Craycraft officiating.  Interment St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. Preceded in death b y his parents, Joseph and Louise Koekenburg Dobbels. - kbz
