COVINGTON, Ind. — Mrs. Hester E. Dixon, 75, of Foster, died at 8:55 p.m. Thursday (Nov. 5, 1970) at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, Ill., where she had been a patient three days. She had been in ill health for two months. Mrs. Dixon was born June 28, 1895, in Danville, daughter of Robert and Ellen McPherson Shuman. She was married to Ival Forrest Dixon Feb. 24, 1916, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 12, 1969. Surviving are two sons, Ward of Kingman Route 2 and Dale of Danville Route 4; a sister, Ms. Hazel Mabee of Fort Wayne; a brother, Earl Shuman of Florida; six grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a daughter and a sister. A resident of Foster for the past 50 years and a former resident of Danville, her hobbies were knitting, crocheting and gardening. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. EST Sunday at Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home, with the Rev. J. T. Myers officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday afternoon and evening at the funeral home. --waw
