DIXON, Ada Goff - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Covington - Mrs. Ada Dixon, age 62, of Foster, died at 6:45 a.m. Wednesday July 3, at the Tall Trees Nursing Home in Covington. She had been in ill health for several years. Mrs. Dixon was born Dec. 1, 1906, in Crawford County, Ill., the daughter of Maberry and Aquitta Thorpe Goff. She married Paul Dixon on Aug. 30, 1930 and he preceded her in death. She had been a resident of Foster since 1930. She was a member of the Baptist Church at Florenceville. Surviving are one son, H. Gene Dixon of Covington Rt.2; two sisters, Mrs. Edna Mills of Lawrenceville, Ill., and Mrs. Ruth Waulene of Sweden; two brothers Earl Goff of Oklahoma and Everett Goff of Texas; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter and three brothers. Funeral services were held at 2 .m. Friday at the Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home in Covington. The Rev, Glenn Ray, pastor of the First Baptist Church here, officiated. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
