ATTICA — Donald Joe Dillon, 62, 3788 N. Xavier Road, Attica, died at 2:55 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002 in the emergency room of Home Hospital, Lafayette. He had been in ill health for the past eight months. He was born Nov. 3, 1939 in Kingman, the son of Donald Edward and Mildred M. Newnum Dillon. He married Diane Smith in June 1964 in Chicago, Ill. He later married Paulette G. (Holycross) Rennick Neermann July 1, 1995 in Attica. She preceded in death June 25, 1996. He was raised in Kingman, graduating from Kingman High School in 1957. He first began working with the Woolworth Department Stores, working as a manager in Chicago. He later became district manager for the Ben Franklin Stores for 25 years, working out of Wisconsin, Illinois and Indiana. More recently he worked for the Attica Consolidated School Corporation in the maintenance department. He was a former member of the E.U.B. Church, now called the Community Church in Kingman. He was a veteran, serving in the U. S. Army, during the Viet Nam Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion Post #777. Survivors include: his mother, Mildred M. Dillon Ratcliff, Kingman; a granddaughter that was raised by him, Brittany Joe Rennick, Attica; four step children, Cheryl (Bill) Mooar, Attica, Debbie (Thad) Wolf, Veedersburg, Pamela (Donnie) Radford, Indianapolis and Richard Rennick, Arizona; two brothers, Jack (Sue) Dillon and John (Sue) Ratcliff, both of Kingman; a sister, Patty (Tom) Brown, Dana; eight step grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his father a step father, Don Ratcliff; and two step sons, Pete and Larry Rennick. Funeral services were at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Maus Funeral Home, Attica, with Pastor Glenn Ray officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Attica.
