Source: 1940s obituaries collected by Rose Marie Sutherlin provided to kbz via Betty Dotson (one great lady and genealogist – both were and ironically, I have been cleaning my genealogy things out and found this on the day Betty passed – probably had it for years when Rose Marie passed as fairly sure Betty received much of her things and Betty likely already had one of these)
Mrs. Edis Dice, aged 53 years, passed away Sunday morning at 9:30 o’clock at her farm home near Veedersburg. She had been in ill health for the past year, having been through Mayo Brothers Clinic and in the hospital. She was born near Mellott, Ind July 2nd, 1893 the daughter of James and Florence (Keyt) Rice. On Dec. 25th 1915 she was married to Myron Dice. Mrs. Dice was a member of the New Century United Brethren Church. Being quite active in club work, she was the County President of the Home Economics Club, President of the Bonebrake Cemetery League and President of the New Century Ladies aid. Surviving besides the husband are one daughter, Mrs. Helen Grady, Lafayette, Ind; one son, Lloyd, Veedersburg and one grandson’ two brothers, Clarence Rice, Mellott; Grover, Danville, ill and four sisters, Mrs. Hugh DeAth; Mrs. Homer Resister, Mellott and Juanita and Ruby Rice of Auburn, Ind. Funeral at New Century Church Tuesday at 3:300 Rev LD Wertz officiating. Burial in Bonebrake cemetery, Parham in charge. – kbz
