Covington, Ind. - Smith W. Dewlen, 68, of Indianapolis, formerly of Covington, died at 10:20 a.m. Sunday (June 22, 1975) at his home. He had been ill two years. He was the son of Noah and Hattie Smith Dewlen. He married Maizie Jones, who survives. Other survivors include a son, Bud of Indianapolis; four brothers, Francis of Covington, Gerald of Brazil, Paul of Terre Haute and Claude of Steubenville, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Lucille Hancock of Veedersburg Route 4 and Mrs. Marie Penley of Indianapolis and two grandchildren. He retired from the railroad shops in Indianapolis and was a member of the Lake View Tabernacle in Indianapolis. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Farley Funeral Home, 1605 W. Morris, Indianapolis. Entombment will be in the mausoleum at Greenwood. Visitation will be at the funeral home Tuesday.
