CAYUGA, Ind. (CNS) — Mrs. Matelda "Tilley" DeWitt, 65, of 314 Logan, died Sunday (Sept. 20, 1970) at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, Ill. Born in Stumptown Aug. 26, 1905, she was the daughter of James and Margaret Canedy Johnson. She married Benjamin DeWitt Feb. 10, 1933, at Indianapolis. A homemaker, she was trustee of Eugene Township from 1964 to 1966. Survivors include her husband; two brothers, James F. Johnson of Houston, Tex., and Percy Johnson of Cayuga; and a sister, Mrs. Bertha Hollingsworth. She was preceded in death by a brother, Edgar Johnson, and a sister, Mrs. Florence Bailey. Services will be at 2 p.m. EDT Wednesday at the Watson Funeral Home, with burial in Thomas Cemetery at Newport. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-9 p.m. Tuesday. --waw
